About BAHCA

Bay Area Health Care Advocates (BAHCA) advances the profession and practice of health care advocacy in Northern California with the goal of improving patient outcomes. In support of this goal, we

  • Educate consumers on advocacy, decision-making support, informed consent, research, and navigating our health care system.
  • Offer members professional development through educational programs and collegial support.
  • Build the capacity of members to address health disparities and to counteract biased care, whenever and wherever we experience it.
  • Uphold the Code of Ethics established by the National Association of Health Care Advocacy (NAHAC) in association with HealthAdvocateX, and the Patient Advocacy Certification Board.
